Optimal Speed and Error-Tolerance

There is no other search technology capable of returning search results with as much relevance, speed and error tolerance. Even rare errors or suggestion opportunities (misspellings, typos, alternative product names, related products) lead to relevant purchase suggestions regardless of how large and complex the product catalog may be.

Reporting

Online Merchandising is not an art. It's a science. Exorbyte Commerce provides you with actionable reporting data to improve the findability of your products, and thereby the conversion rate and profits of your store. These can be sent to you in a weekly email and are also visible through the online reporting interface which allows you to generate custom reports for a given day or for any other time period you choose.

  • Unexpected Queries: Exorbyte Commerce is built to handle all possible queries used by visitors to find products within your store: typos, spelling mistakes, singular and plural forms, alternative names, similar-sounding spellings, search queries containing multiple words, related products and categories.
  • Did-You-Mean Function: Because of its high capacity for fault-tolerance, a ”Did-You-Mean” function is included, however it is not displayed as an intermediate step. The Did-You-Mean function is already integrated in the Auto-Suggest and in the search function.
  • Best-In-Class Search Technology: Exorbyte developed proprietary search technology for enterprise customers which is now available to small and medium online stores. Exorbyte search technology demonstrates excellence and scientifically-proven superiority in the field of string matching and error-tolerance. This is at the heart of all Exorbyte Commerce packages.

  • Summary: What are people search for? What are they finding? What are they not finding? How many queries and clicks were there in total? How many multiple word-searches were made, and how often? Which suggestions were selected and how often were they clicked on?
  • Search Terms: Which terms are searched, and how often? How effective are individual searches? Which Autocomplete entries are clicked, and how often?
  • No Matches: Which search entries yield no results found, and how often? Some products have multiple names but your store only describes one way. Customers could miss them. You can see which products customers expect to find in your store and possibly create aliases to equivalent products you carry.
  • Trend Analysis: What are the trends in the evolution of the number of queries and clicks over the given report's time period and since the previous time period. Top gaining or loosing products and search terms give you an idea of the products you should boots in ranking and stock in your inventory to optimize your sales.
  • Time Analysis: View graphically how your search activity evolves monthly, weekly, daily and hourly in your store.
  • Email-Reports: Receive a weekly report by email.

Lightning-Fast, Error-Tolerant Autocomplete

As a visitor starts to type a word or phrase, a drop-down box appears automatically showing the most relevant products for his query or partial query. The Autocomplete feature is highly error-tolerant.

Fully Customizable Autocomplete Feature

You can design the drop-down box of the Autocomplete with a simple web interface in your control panel. No need for web development skills to configure colors and fonts to suit your store.

  • Full Catalog Coverage: Contrary to other search software providers, our Autocomplete feature returns the most relevant products from the live catalog of the store, even with millions of products. Results keep updating dynamically after each character is typed.
  • More than Auto-Complete: Other autocomplete widgets return popular querries or top-selling products. Is that really the best way to find your visitor's preferred product.

  • Various Display Formats: Results can be displayed grouped or un-grouped by category. Their display order can be changed. A second column can also be shown, for instance, one that shows the price, category, or brand.
  • Product Thumbnails: You can show thumbnail images of the products next to the results in the drop-down box and you can choose the size of the image yourself.

Efficient, Error-Tolerant Search

Dynamic Navigation features appear on the search results page allowing various search results refinements using facets or filters (ranking by price, relevance, filtering by brand, category, or other attributes).

  • Dynamic Navigation / Faceted Search: Visitors can filter results by categories, brands, and other attributes relevant to the product catalog. Results can also be ranked by prices or relevance. They could be displayed one underneath the other, with the sort mode within the filter.
  • Dynamic Navigation Positioning: Filters, facets and other dynamic navigation features can be positioned above the search results, or to the left. The visitor can change the positioning themselves with a click.
  • Real Time Display: Changing any filter such as the price range slider updates the results list in real time and immediately displays the new number of hits as well as the hits themselves without even reloading the page.
  • List or Grid: The results can be shown as a list with product descriptions or in the form of a grid with larger product images and names but no descriptions. You set the default view and the visitor can still change the display mode by themselves, by clicking on a convenient button.

  • Search Results per Page: You can set the number of results per page and your visitors can easily change it as they refine their search results.
  • Results Shown in Order: Your visitors can list the results in order of relevance, ascending or descending price order.
  • Product Thumbnails: You can show product images alongside the search results.
  • Add-To-Cart-Buttons: For each search result, the store's own add-to-cart button can be displayed to speed the time and steps to purchase.
  • Meta Data: The meta data of each product data-set (e.g. the description) is also checked.
  • Other Product Attributes: Other product attributes contained in your catalog data.

Aliases

Aliases or synonyms are search terms your visitors use in their queries which may not appear in your product names, descriptions, category headings, etc. You can create aliases (example: Laptop/Notebook).

Configurable Ranking

Products, categories, brands or even particular words in a product description can be promoted or penalized in the ranking of search results. Such features allow you to boost your profits by taking advantage of your supplier's special offers, your top-selling products, preferred manufacturers, popular categories and other merchandising factors.

  • Feed-wide Aliasing / Global Aliasing: With a simple web interface, you can choose how to apply aliases to other words with similar meanings recorded in the database. With just a click, this can also apply the other way round. For instance, you can use the search term.
  • Single-Product-Aliasing / Local Aliasing: You can configure aliases meant to apply only to certain products directly into the database by making a simple entry - in just the same way as you can set a global alias.

Simple Web Interface for Fast Configurations

Without programming skills, you can adjust most of the settings of your search and merchandising services via a password-protected web interface. Just log in, make changes, publish them and you’re done.

  • Feed-wide Ranking / Global Ranking: By means of a simple web interface, you can set exactly which search terms appear in which database columns with greater or lower emphasis.
  • Single-Product-Ranking / Local Ranking: You can configure aliases meant to apply only to certain products directly into the database by making a simple entry - in just the same way as you can set a global alias.
